THE ASK:
Create a branded video for a popular editorial company for the already existing (and popular) social media series called "Asking for A Friend". This series, aimed at women, discusses relatable topics and aims to make difficult (or awkward topics) accessible and down-to-earth. They had a tight budget and needed to ensure we had the right talent to convey the personal story that was also family friendly and diverse.
THE Process:
We performed real people casting in-house, canvassing social media, personal connections, journalist outlets, and casting sites to find the right woman to tell her story.
We sought out a beautiful space in Brooklyn that would be the perfect backdrop for our story, and spent a month getting to know our talent choice over zoom, teasing out and honing in on the story to tell.
After production wrapped, we created transcripts and a stringout of the footage to help us to decide the best and most important pieces of the story. We edited and finalized the video in-house, formatting it for different aspect ratios.
The Outcome:
A visually beautiful piece and one that the client felt really proud of. It fit perfectly into the Asking for a Friend family and performed well on social.
